Arthur G. Salazar, former Principal, Teacher, Coach, and Central Office Administrator has been named as Interim Principal at Alcalde Elementary and the Espanola Military Academy Magnet School until the positions are filled permanently by Superintendent Janette Archuleta.
Arthur G. Salazar, Director Anterior, Maestro, Entrenador, y Administrador de la Oficina Central ha sido nombrado Director Interin en la Escuela Primaria de Alcalde y la Escuela Militar de Espanola hasta que las posiciones sean reemplazadas permanentes por la Superintendente Janette Archuleta.

I am very excited about being at Alcalde. This is a wonderful school with great students and an exceptional staff. I am in the process of applying for the Principal position and would love to work in this rich in culture and historical community and school. I know the staff well and would support them and the community in their quest for a brand new school. It feels so wonderful being appointed to this great school, and look forward to working with everyone.
Estoy my contento en estar aqui en Alcalde. Esta es una escuela maravillosa con excelentes estudiantes y personal excepcional. Estoy en el proceso de aplicar for la posicion de Director y me gustaria trabajar en esta comunidad y escuela llena de cultura y historia. Conosco el personal bien y les daria mi apollo y tambien a la comunidad en su busqueda por una nueva escuela. Se siente maravilloso de ver sido designado a esta escuela excelente, y estoy en espera de trabajar con todos.
We are very sad to say that our Former Principal, Mr. Leroy Martinez, has retired from the Espanola School District, and is no longer our Principal here at Alcalde Elementary.
His last day was December 18, 2009. He worked hard and made a big difference here at our school. Also, our Counselor, Mr. Vigil retired in December and also left our school. They will both be missed.
Con pena les dejamos saber que el Director Anterior, Sr. Leroy Martinez, se ha jubilado de las Escuelas del Distrito de Espanola, y ya no es Director aqui en la escuela Primaria de Alcalde. Su ultimo dia fue el 18 de diciembre del 2009. Hizo una gran diferencia en nuestra escuela. Tambien el Consejero, Sr. Vigil, se jubilo y dejo nuestra escuela. Los echamos mucho de menos.
